The organizers of The Sandy Hook 5K are proud to announce the fifth annual race to honor the memories of the lives lost and support those impacted by the tragic events of December 14, 2012 in Sandy Hook.
The race will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 on the campus of Fairfield Hills in Newtown, Conn. beginning at 9:00 a.m. with staggered kid’s fun runs and 9:45 a.m. for the 5K.

The 5th Annual Sandy Hook 5K will take place at Fairfield Hills in Newtown, CT on April 1, 2017. Start and Finish on Keating Farms Ave.
ENTRY LIMIT: number of runners in the 5k = 2500
NO LOTTERY for registration! Runners will be registered on a first come/first served basis.
RUNS: For kids ages 2-6, the fun run is a quarter mile. For those ages 7 and up, the distance is a half mile. Total spots available for both kid’s runs is 250, also on a first-come/ first-served basis.
Newtown Memorial Fund has offered to collect and process all donations. Proceeds from the Sandy Hook 5K will be donated to the Collaborative Recovery Fund administered by the Newtown-Sandy Hook Community Foundation which pays the out of pocket mental health expenses for those eligible who have been most impacted by the 12-14-12 tragedy. A percent of the proceeds will go directly to the chosen nonprofit organizations of the 26 families who lost loved ones.
