South Windsor Labor Day Purple Heart 5 Mile Road Race
This 5 Mile Labor Day Road Race is run to recognize and honor all those who have served and are serving our great nation. Join us to celebrate and to show support for the Veterans and active service members.
NOTE: Sullivan Ave and Main St will be closed to traffic at 7:45 am. Please use Governors and Strong from Rte 5. Then travel North on Main Street to the Board of Education Building.
Both the 5 Mile Race and the 2.7 Mile Race are timed using the Chip System.
Proceeds in part will be donated to Wounded Veteran Projects and other Veteran Charities as well as the the Hartford Evergreen #88 Scholarship Fund.

High School Athletes: Join us for a great pre season 2.7 Mile race.
Race day entry fee: $30
Flat (One Moderate Hill Section) and Fast 5 Mile Course.

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the armed forces of the U.S. who are wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy and posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in action or die of wounds received in action.

Start at the Education Building
Head North on Main St to a left on Ferry
Follow Ferry to the Turn Around Location at the 1 Mile Mark
Return on Ferry to a right on Main St
GO past the Education Building at 1737 Main
Follow Main St all the way to turn around North of
Congregational Church/Rehab.
Return on Main ST to Finish Line at Education Building
